Independant Cuba

There is nowhere in the world like Havana. From the resplendent Spanish colonial architecture of the Old Town, to the spectacular dilapidation of Havana Centro, a city of stalwart survivors and masterful musicians rocks indefatigably to the syncopated beat of the rumba. This holiday is suited to the more independant traveller who wants the comfort of knowing that the first 2 nights in Cuba are all taken care of leaving them free to make their own arrangements and explore the amazing country of Cuba. Bereft of the consumer-driven trappings of other less colourful metropolises, Havana remains characterful, safe, and packed with a plethora of interesting museums. For history buffs there's the living breathing essence of UNESCO-sponsered Havana Vieja; for beach bums there's the sun-splashed tranquility of Playas del Este. Additional nights and combination with a twin center holiday is also possible.

Please note, there is a maximum stay of 30 days in Cuba as visas can only be issued for one month.

Hotel Telegrafo: Splendid example of fusion architecture combining, modern design with colonial styles, overlooking Parque Central.
The Hotel Telegrafo first was opened in 1888 by Don Guillermo del Toro and Doña Pilar Samoano, they made of this hotel one of the best of Latin America, with new services an outstanding reputation. Authentic and luxurious, Telegrafo Hotel is reopened to remind us about the famous hotel it was at the end of the 19th. Century its eclectic facade discover today the architectural evolution it went through the time.

The two first floor, respecting they original forms, are the prelude of the upper floors of a more contemporary style. Sixty three spacious rooms with high ceilings, located in the three floors have views mainly on Prado Promenade. Where nowadays the snack bar is located the old ruins of the original courtyard can still be discovered. Its big half archers, without plaster show bricks and masonry which contrast with the modern design of the hotel.

Telégrafo Hotel is located in one of the most populated corners created by the well known streets Prado and Neptuno.

Customer review: We arrived early hours of the morning, after a 10 hour flight delay. The reception staff were great and got us to our rooms quickly so we could get some much needed rest.

Our room was huge, we had booked a standard room, but were lucky enough to be upgraded to a suite with a lounge, bedroom, toilet and a bathroom with jacuzzi!!! Everything was very clean. The room overlooked the main square which was fasinating to just open the large windows and watch the world go by.

Breakfast was adequate with plenty of choice, freshly cooked omelates or eggs cooked how you wish. We ate lunch there too which again was very good.

The hotel is in a great position and easy to travel around Havana.
